Running is amongst the easiest and cheapest forms of exercise available. Long before there were gyms or team sports there was running.
If you would like to run without all the pressures of preparing for a half marathon, doing a fun run is a great way to get fit and raise money for a deserving charity. You can either train to finish the run with a personal best time, or choose to take things easy and complete the fun run in fancy dress. When you put the fun back in your run everyone benefits. The personal benefits - both physical and mental - of running are many and wide-ranging.
Bowel cancer can develop without the person experiencing any symptoms, and an alarming one in 23 Australians will develop bowel cancer in their lifetime.
What is a bowel screening test?
Bowel screening tests detect blood in your bowel movement which is a common sign of bowel abnormalities. It is important to realise that screening tests do NOT test for cancer, merely abnormalities in your bowel. If the result of your bowel screening test is positive you will be advised to contact your GP to discuss the result. In this instance, you may be referred for a follow-up colonoscopy.
