Tom Bradey grew up in regional Victoria and moved to Melbourne where he graduated from Monash University. Since practicing Tom has completed his hospital and then general practice training in the Geelong area, and subsequently started with Newtown Medical Centre in 2018.
Tom undertook further training including a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Diploma of Child Health.
Tom values the privilege practicing medicine affords him. He ensures all his patients are given the time to tell their personal health stories. His individualistic care approach ensures listening carefully to patients and tailoring personal care to each patient to help them manage their unique health situations.
Tom also works in a teacher/mentor role for General Practice trainees, which requires him to be constantly learning and updating his knowledge. It also helps him improve his medical teaching skills which encourages the provision of best practice care for his patients.
His medical career so far has taken him to some interesting places including once being in the personal trailer of a famous Hollywood actor whilst working on a film set. He has also spent time working in Cairns and far north Queensland.
In his spare time Tom enjoys taking his son and daughter on adventures (both big and small), hitting mountain bike tracks and attempting to sink 3 pointers whilst playing basketball.
Some areas of care that Tom provides include: Health for young families, LGBTQI patient care, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and Travel medicine information and vaccines.
