Newtown Medical Centre provides a wide range of medical services for sporting injuries.  We have GPs experienced in injury, treatment and recovery of sporting injuries, as well as a Specialist sports physican for the management of complex issues.  Our Sports physician Dr Hugh Seward has provided medical services to the Australian Commonwealth Games teams, Geelong Football Club, AFL Doctors Association, and the Australian Tennis Open to name a few. This same expertise is available to athletes of local schools, clubs and sports people who need specialist attention. Our services include:

Treatment of acute or chronic musculoskeletal injuries
Joint and tendon injections under ultrasound guidance (for acute and chronic issues)

Exercise and recovery programs (with our exercise physiologist)

Specific arthritis treatments (both exercise, medication and injection based)
Concussion management- return to sport guidance, assessment and management of concussion and post concussion syndrome.

Newtown Medical Centre offers guided exercise programs overseen by an exercise physiologist in our gym or with a program tailored for you in a home or team-based exercise plan combined with weekly sessions in our gym.
