Dr Johanna Henderson

General Practitioner

Commencing November 2026

Dr Johanna Henderson is a warm, personable and experienced GP who will join Newtown Medical Centre in a permanent part-time capacity following her family’s relocation to Geelong from Scotland in late 2026.

Johanna qualified as a General Practitioner in Scotland in 2022 and has since developed broad experience across general practices throughout Glasgow, working with patients from diverse backgrounds and across all stages of life. Dr Henderson has also worked in out-of-hours services and hospital-based integrated general practice, giving her a well-rounded approach to primary care.

Johanna particularly enjoys building long-term relationships with her patients and providing thoughtful, holistic care that considers the whole person, not simply the presenting concern. Dr Henderson has a strong interest in women’s health and holds a Diploma in Sexual Health.

Her approach is centred on preventative healthcare, continuity of care and empowering patients to take an active role in their long-term wellbeing. Dr Henderson is committed to ongoing professional development and maintaining a broad and up-to-date knowledge across all areas of general practice.

Outside of medicine, Johanna is looking forward to settling into life in Geelong with her husband, a radiologist, and their young family. Dr Henderson is excited to become part of the Geelong community and looks forward to building lasting relationships with patients and families in the local area.
