What is My Medicare?
My Medicare is a free voluntary program which aims to strengthen the relationship between patients and their regular GP.
My Medicare Benefits
- Longer telehealth and video consult appointments when medically appropriate.
- No 12- month face to face consultation requirement for medically appropriate telehealth appointments.
- No 12-month face to face requirement for Medicare funded eligible GP services when registered with My Medicare and have an Enduring Assignment of Benefits form completed.
- Improved co-ordinated care for chronic condition management
- Residents in Aged Care facilities will benefit from regular GP consultations, care plans and health Assessments
- Future Medicare initiatives

Patient Information
My Medicare is a government initiative aimed to strengthen the connection between patients and their regular GP. Evidence has shown that regular, coordinated care may lead to improved health outcomes.
By formalizing this connection with your regular GP, patients can access longer telehealth and video appointments when appropriated, coordinated care for patients with complex health care needs and any further initiatives introduced by the government.
If you have a Medicare card or DVA card and have attended our practice in person, twice in the previous 12-month period you are eligible for the My Medicare program.
