Dr Anna Carter

Anna was originally a physiotherapist and went back to study post graduate medicine at Melbourne University. She completed her years as a junior doctor at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Mercy Hospital for Women, where she gained her diploma of obstetrics and gynaecology and finally Northern Health for paediatrics prior to commencing general practice training. Anna practiced as a GP in East Brunswick for eight years and joined Newtown Medical Centre in 2022. She is registered for shared maternity care with Barwon Health. Anna enjoys the breadth of medicine that general practice provides and feels that it is a privilege to be involved in her patient’s journey throughout their lifespan. Outside of work she enjoys singing loudly with her kids, cooking, bushwalking and reading a good book.
